Margination In The 518
Who We Are
[Margination] is a non-profit organization that invests in aspiring entrepreneurs from low and moderate-income areas. We are not a loan company. We rely on donations to fund our projects. The overall goal is to invest in communities by creating business opportunities for the people who live in those communities. When those people are successful, it benefits the entire community by improving quality of life.
Our mission is to work with entrepreneurs, as well as individuals that wish to be self-employed, from low and moderate-income communities in the local area with the skills and platform necessary to run their own businesses and improve their communities.
How it works
We are a non-profit organization that empowers people to become entrepreneurs in their own communities. There is no required startup fee with margination.
On the Job Training
At Margination, we provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools and skills they need to succeed. Those who enter into our program will have access to a variety of resources that could quickly elevate their overall skill set. The on-the-job-training will continue until entrepreneurs are able to handle the business side of their trade. The training and resources include, but are not limited to the following:
- Development and support
- Networking strategies and skills
- Business support
- How to scale a business
- Community leadership
As long as there are openings what’s mostly needed to qualify are the necessary skills in the business the participant wants to start. We walk our participants through the business side of things so they can better focus on what they know.
